It's no easy task to produce the world's most respected film awards ceremony, but somehow Ronald, Steve, and John have managed it for half a decade now. New categories! Fresh snack mix! A paper shredder! This year's show has it all.

As follow-up to a recent discussion about remakes, and as part of an ongoing conversation concerning Disney's status as pop culture overlord, the guys dig in to the latest of the Mouse House's efforts, a digitally spruced-up recreation of their 1991 classic, Beauty and the Beast. Did this tale as old as time need retelling?

Steve, Ronald and John look at a couple of big summer action movies that for some reason came out in the winter: The excellent Logan and the pulse-pounding Kong: Skull Island. Spoiler: They're both good!

Ronald, Steve and John reignite an ongoing debate about the value of remakes as they each choose a few movies from the past that might deserve another go.

The guys are so excited about Get Out—a racially-charged new horror film written and directed by comedian Jordan Peele—that they had to wedge in a bonus episode about it. See the film and join the discussion! (Note: The first half is spoiler free, with ample warning.)

Ronald is under self-quarantine due to a nasty cold, so the guys phone it in as they discuss the upcoming Academy Awards broadcast, including some category picks and a breakdown of how the current political climate could affect the ceremony.

Things always get nervy around Schmovie HQ when it's time to make our annual 'best of' lists, but for some reason, this year we were especially agitated. Our eternal optimism says this is because there were many great films to sift through in 2016. We buckled down and made some difficult choices. See if you agree!
