The year-end wrap-up continues as Ronald, Steve and John call out a bunch of exemplary television shows from 2018, including new discoveries and returning favorites.

The guys get stuck in a time loop, chat about home renovations, and ponder the Netflix programming ethos. And that's before diving into their look back at the things that bugged them or pleased them during 2018, mostly but not always concerned with pop culture.

Ronald, Steve, and John work on their Spider-Nouns as they delve into the latest Sony/Marvel collaboration, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, an exciting and eye-popping addition to the web-slinger canon. We liked it! Listen to find out how much.

The stars have aligned and Ronald, Steve, and John are back to update you on some new-ish movies—Widows, If Beale Street Could Talk, and Creed 2, to name a few—and to chat about the latest shenanigans in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Scary films are known for their inventive kill scenes. Ronald, Steve, and John are picking some favorites. It's such a dangerous topic that they had to bring in adult supervision: Returning Guest Champion Lauren Warehime, who has thoughts. This special episode is the sonic equivalent of a full-sized candy bar and you must enjoy it now.

Ronald, Steve, and John step into the bathroom together and take turns facing the mirror, supposedly saying "Candyman" but actually mumbling things like "Cangymang" and "Canbyman" and hoping nobody else will notice. While they're in there, they discuss the whole trilogy: 1992's Candyman, 1995's Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh, and 1999's Candyman: Day of the Dead. More fun than a ribcage full of bees!

Ronald, Steve, and John return when you least expect with a look at the trailers for a handful of big movies coming soon (The Mule, Vice, Rocketman, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse), as well as thoughts on trailers in general and whether teasers should even be a thing. Also discussed: The latest director hired to helm James Bond 25, the new season of Serial, and a few podcast recommendations.

What will those Schmovie Boys do next?

We need to talk about Kevin. (Feige, that is.) Also, we try to sort out our feelings about the James Gunn situation. Then it's on to a couple of noteworthy recent movies: Ghost Stories, a funny, spooky and very British new anthology; and Mission: Impossible - Fallout, the latest stunt-filled action ballet from Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie.
