On this week's pod Ronald, Steve, and John contemplate this week's Required Viewing pick, 2021's Nine Days, and then move on to a grab bag of reviews, including the new Liam Hemsworth actioner, Land of Bad, a Coen brother film, Drive-Away Dolls, and a new animated Netflix film written by Charlie Kaufman called Orion and the Dark.

Ron, Steve, and John spend way too much time obsessing over their year-end lists of the best new movies they saw, so it’s only fair that you spend a fraction of that time listening to this episode where they excitedly share the results. To celebrate their 400th episode, Ron, Steve, and John once again report for duty at Schmovie Studios, aka The House That Thrice Built (if you know you know) for an all-new edition of The Schmovie Studios Movie Game. 

Ron, Steve, and John kick off 2024 with a look at Brian De Palma’s 1974 horror-comedy-musical Phantom of the Paradise and then dig into the mysteries of True Detective’s triumphant return with an eerie and atmospheric fourth season called Night Country.

It’s that time of year again; the time we get to sit down and complain about anything, and everything, we deem necessary. Join us for our biggest “Bah Humbug!” moments of 2013.

Ron, Steve, and John are back for another round of Required Viewing, and this time the selection is a British crime thriller from 1980 called The Long Good Friday. After that, the guys discuss the fallout from the verdict in the Jonathan Majors assault/harassment trial, and then they do a quick rundown of recent things they’ve seen.

The guys take a quick trip to feudal Japan to check out 1980’s seminal Shogun Assassin, and then escape to a rental house in the country to see what Julia Roberts and Mahershala Ali are up to in Netflix’s new apocalyptic thriller, Leave the World Behind. Also, John saw Wonka and shares a few thoughts.

Jump on in, and come along for the ride! Ronald, Steve, and John break down 1945’s Dead of Night, Takashi Yamazaki’s Godzilla Minus One, and Netflix’s Blue Eye Samurai, among others. 

Back from the Thanksgiving Table and full of Chocolate Pie, Ronald, Steve, and John burn off those holiday carbs by running down quite the list of recent releases. After quickly discussing 2018's I'll Take Your Dead, the guys review Disney's Wish, Eli Roth's Thanksgiving, Ridley Scott's Napoleon, and Season 5 of Fargo, among others.
